The Grange is situated in Whatley, a small hamlet
in Somerset only 15 miles from the Georgian city of Bath, and the
market town of Frome is just over 2 miles away. We are renowned for
our warm friendly atmosphere. With the help of our staff we try our
best to make all students, including those from abroad, feel very
at the grange in our home. Every student is different, whether it
be the speed with which they learn or the number of blankets they
like on their bed - we are flexible and will try to help in any way
that we can to make everyone feel comfortable throughout their stay
with us.
A file containing the recipes used during the course
is provided for each student. Aprons and all the required equipment
are provided.
Students are accommodated at The Grange which is
our purpose built home - it is large, light and airy and forms a
courtyard with the 17th century farmhouse where William and Jane
live. It is set in 20 acres of rich undulating farmland. A stream
flows through our wooded valley, which makes a tranquil escape for
quiet walks. It is a relaxed country home which is well decorated
and has a warm, friendly atmosphere. Some single rooms are available
but they are limited and carry a supplementary charge.
We have a tennis court and boules, croquet, badminton
and rounders can also be played in our grounds. We have a games room
with pool table, satellite TV and music. There is a computer available
for students to collect and send e-mails. A golf course is close
by and there are miles of beautiful walks, so don’t forget
the Wellington boots.
